Lisa Petscher joined the Monroe County Community School Corporation as th
e Manager of Coordinated School Health in December. The Manager of Coordinated School Health is a community-partner funded position created through a partnership with IU Health, IU School of Public Health, Premier Healthcare, , Bloomington Hospital Foundation, Monroe County
Community Foundation, and the MCCSC. The position is a full-time role through IU Health in working with
the MCCSC schools to promote and implement school health initiatives. Ms. Petscher earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Science in Applied Health Science from Indiana University prior to her career at the Monroe County YMCA as a camp and family events coordinator, and most recently as the site coordinator for the LEAP after school program.
Although this position is new as an IU Health position, the job assumes responsibility for an ongoing MCCSC community initiative run through the School Health Council, a collective of MCCSC personnel, community agency representatives, and parents. The council meets quarterly as a whole and more regularly as smaller subcommittees to address health issues as they relate to the school district. The MCCSC is grateful to the community partnerships in Bloomington that allowed for such an exciting position to come to life.
