The Jackson Creek Pink Out on Tuesday, October 21, marked the culmination of a month-long, student-led fundraising effort at Jackson Creek Middle School. Students created and ran a variety of fundraising efforts including a running event and sales of items. The 2015 student target was $2,400.00. Students exceeded that level raising a total $2,853.00 this year bringing the ten year grand total to more than $10,500.00 for donation to the Olcott Center for cancer research and treatment.
Students attending the October 21 assembly heard from an IU Health representative from the Olcott center as well as a number of MCCSC and JCMS educators who have personally dealt with cancer diagnoses. As a result of the school exceeding the fundraising goal, Mr. Pillar and other administrators will once again camp out in front of the school this Thursday evening.
MCCSC values the diversity in our schools and community. All students’ experiences and perspectives are assets.
