Summer Programs/Services

2024 Summer Learning Programs

Elementary Programs

Morning & afternoon transportation from school hubs is available. Breakfast & lunch are provided free.

Grade levels listed are for the 2023-2024 school year. These camps are free.

 

June 3-27, 2024, 8:45am-1:45pm*

No camp on Fridays or on June 19th

Located at Fairview Elementary School

 

 

Academic Camp (Grades 1,2,4,5): Build math and reading proficiency and engage in career awareness and STEAM activities.

 

 

Reading Camp (Grade 3): This camp is for students who have not successfully completed IREAD-3.

 

 

English Learners (Grades 1-5): English language summer enrichment program

 

 

Virtual Summer Camp (Grades K-8): Online opportunity for students to work on skills personalized to their instructional level, at a time convenient for them. To sign up for Virtual Summer School, please complete this form. For questions, email: virtualsummer@mccsc.edu

 

 

*Extended Day: Limited space in before and/or after care for Summer Learning Programs is available and must be paid for in full prior to beginning the program. A link will be sent to all families enrolled in the programs above.

Before Care (7:00am-8:30am): $124

After Care (2:00pm-5:30pm): $188

 

 

Camp Connections

Breakfast & lunch are provided free. Grade levels listed are for the 2023-2024 school year.  Students’ families are notified if they are eligible to attend and applications are made available by the student’s classroom teachers. This camp is free.

Located at Templeton Elementary School

Special Education Students in Grades K-6

 

Camp Connections provides a summer camp experience for students with significant disabilities and speech and language needs. Camp is presented in partnership with the IU Speech and Hearing Clinic.

 

 

EdVenture Camp

Space is limited. Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided free. Limited scholarships for qualifying families are available. Optional before & after care is available. Camps are contingent upon final enrollment. Email extendedday@mccsc.edu with questions. Register on the MCCSC website under the Extended Day tab.

ELA/Writing & Math Camp (Grades 6 & 7): Instruction will focus on ELA/Writing and math. Students will also engage in STEAM and career awareness activities.

 

 

High School Programs

Morning & afternoon transportation is available for Summer School Academies only.  These programs are free.

 

Summer School Academies

June 3-July 11, 2024, 8:00am-11:00am at BHSN & BHSS (No class on June 19th or July 4th)

This program supports incoming 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students with direct, small group instruction to build essential skills in the areas of English language arts, math, social emotional learning (SEL) and life skills. Students receive high school credit.

 

 

High School Summer Classes

June 3-July 11, 2024 at BHSS (No class on June 19th or July 4th)

2-Hour Sessions begin daily at 8:00am, 10:00am, and 12:00pm

The Edmentum PLATO Online Program will be used along with direct instruction from teachers in some courses. Students from any MCCSC high school may participate. Summer school is primarily for credit recovery courses. Pre- and post-tests must be taken at BHSS. Applications will be available beginning April 8th on the school websites.

 

High School Spanish Language Summer Program

June 3-July 11, 2024, 8:00am-11:00am at BHSS (No class on June 19th or July 4th)

This program supports high school students with direct, interactive, small-group instruction to build essential Spanish language skills in preparing for the Indiana Certificate of Multilingual Proficiency (CoMP). At the end of the summer program, the participating students will take the STAMP 4S language assessment, which is one of the requirements for the certificate. 12th grade students can receive the certificate if they meet the criteria.

 

Computer Technology Support Course (CRAM)

June 3-27, 2024, 11:00am-3:00pm at BHSN & BHSS (No class on Fridays or June 19th)

Incoming 10-12th grade students can participate in this course that prepares students to provide laptop technical support to students during the school year.

 

Agricultural Research Capstone

June 3-July 11, 2024, 8:00am-11:00am at Hoosier Hills Career Center 

(No class on June 19th, or July 4th)

Students may participate in this career pathway offering project-based learning and leadership training. Students will coordinate with the teacher to complete a minimum of 80 hours on an approved project.
