BHSN Athletics & Parking Lot Project
Bloomington High School North Athletics and Parking Lot Improvement Project
This project is part of the MCCSC Designing and Building to Sustain Excellence initiative

Bloomington North students to benefit from bond-funded athletic facility upgrades
Bloomington High School North is receiving approximately $8 million in athletic facility upgrades — entirely funded through bonds, not the dollars that support teachers, classrooms, or operations. The project includes new track and field throwing facilities, an athletic facilities building with visitor locker rooms, a synthetic turf soccer field, batting cages, a concessions area, and a new parking lot. Construction will begin in March with completion anticipated by fall 2026. These investments will give students and athletes the modern spaces they deserve while reflecting MCCSC's commitment to financial responsibility — ensuring every education dollar continues to support teaching and learning.
Project Investment: Approximately $8 million (Lease Rental Bonds).
Zero Referendum dollars will be used.
Zero Educational dollars will be used.

“This bond-funded project represents a transformational investment in the Bloomington High School North campus. The new parking lot will significantly enhance access to our track and football complex, highlighted by a dynamic new entrance that celebrates the rich tradition and ongoing success of our Cougar programs, along with upgraded restroom and concession facilities.
The expanded parking will also improve accessibility for events at our auditorium, gymnasium, and aquatic center. The new soccer field complements our state-of-the-art tennis facility, baseball and softball complexes, and adds concession areas to better serve fans and guests.”
