No devices during the school day iconBell-to-Bell Wireless Communication Device Policy (State Requirement)

Per a new state law (SEA 78), beginning with the 2026-27 school year, students may not use personal wireless communication devices — including cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, laptops, wireless headphones, and gaming devices — during the school day.

Students may bring personal wireless communication devices to school; however, devices must remain powered off and stored in an approved location during the school day. Exceptions may be made for documented medical needs, accommodations outlined in an IEP, ILP, or 504 Plan, or other authorized uses as permitted by Board policy.

🔲 Extended Day

Apply now for MCCSC's Extended Day program for the 2026-2027 school year. Applications that are completed by July 17, 2026, are guaranteed to be able to start on the first day of school. MCCSC has added part-time options this year. Please see more information, including fees, on the Extended Day webpage.

🔲 Transportation

All students must be registered and assigned a bus stop location prior to riding a school bus. Only students registered with the transportation department with assigned bus stops will be permitted to ride the bus.

  • New MCCSC families, and families who need bus transportation for your child this year (if your child did not ride the bus last year) should contact bushelp@mccsc.edu to request bus service as soon as possible. Eligibility: Families are eligible for transportation who live outside of the “walk zone” of a school (approximately half a mile away from an elementary school and 1 mile away from a middle or high school).
  • Student bus route pickup locations and times will be available in Skyward on Thursday, July 30 and families will receive a text message with your child’s bus information. Click here to learn how to check your bus information. If you are not sure if your student is routed to receive bus transportation or you have questions, bushelp@mccsc.edu.

  • Download the Versatrans MyStop App to track your child’s bus and scheduled bus stop time. Please know the app is a guide and your bus may arrive earlier than the app displays. Families should plan to be available up to seven (7) minutes before your listed bus stop time. We will notify families via text to let you know if there is a bus time or bus stop location change.

  • See Transportation Frequently Asked Questions, and bus safety and regulations

🔲 School Lunch

  • The free/reduced meal benefit application will be available on July 20 on the MCCSC Child Nutrition website (mccsc.edu/childnutrition). Paper applications are also available at schools and at the MCCSC Service Building.
  • We recently updated our website URL to mccsc.edu/childnutrition, which is our official source for information and forms for the 2026-27 school year and going forward. Only complete forms located on mccsc.edu/childnutrition and not any other website.

🔲 Health Services Registration Forms

MCCSC Health Services is now partnering with SchoolCare, a FERPA- and HIPAA-compliant platform, to give families and staff real-time access to student health information. Please complete your health registration forms before the first student day of the 2026-27 school year. Watch for an email invitation from SchoolCare (support@caredox.com) to complete the forms.
