About GEMS

The Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) and the Foundation Monroe County Community School Corporation (FMCCS) will proudly host our eighth annual Girls in Engineering, Math, and Science (GEMS) event on Saturday, March 29, 2025. We invite aspiring young scientists and engineers to participate in an enriching experience designed to inspire young minds and promote an inclusive environment for all students in grades 5 and 6 who reside in Monroe County and have an interest in the dynamic fields of STEM. Students will have the unique opportunity to engage with role models who are leaders in science, technology, engineering, and math. Participants will explore the wonders of STEM through interactive workshops and inspiring presentations.

During the event, attendees will be divided into small groups to ensure personalized attention and meaningful interactions with experts in STEM education and industry. Each group will engage in hands-on activities that span a variety of fields, including engineering design, chemistry, biology, technology, and mathematics. This collaborative approach not only fosters learning but also encourages teamwork and creativity.

Don’t miss this chance to ignite your passion for STEM! Join us for a day filled with discovery, inspiration, and fun at the 8th GEMS event on Saturday, March 29th, 2025 from 8am – 12pm at Tri-North Middle School!
