Indiana adopted the WIDA English Language Development (ELD) standards as the state English language proficiency standards in 2013. The WIDA ELD standards address the academic language English learners need in order to engage with peers, educators, and the core curriculum in classrooms and content areas. There are five WIDA ELD standard statements. The 2020 Edition presents a new supporting organization for the WIDA ELD Standard Statements, along with additional resources.
