English as a New Language (ENL) Instruction

The English as a New Language (ENL) program is a specialized instructional support service for English learners that focuses on developing English language proficiency while supporting access to academic content across subject areas. Certified ENL teachers provide targeted instruction using research-based strategies to strengthen students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Schools Offer ENL Instruction

Elementary - Kindergarten to 6th Grade

  • ARLINGTON HEIGHTS (K-6th) - ENL program for English learners who live in Arlington Heights attendance area.
  • BINFORD (3rd-6th) - ENL program for English learners who live in Binford attendance area.
  • CHILDS (K-6th) - ENL program for English learners who live in Childs attendance area.
  • FAIRVIEW (K-6th) - ENL program for English learners who live in Fairview attendance area.
  • GRANDVIEW (K-6th) - ENL program for English learners who live in Grandview attendance area.
  • HIGHLAND PARK (K-6th) - ENL program for English learners who live in Highland Park attendance area.
  • ROGERS (K-2nd) - ENL program for English learners who live in Rogers attendance area.
  • SUMMIT (K-6th) - ENL program for English learners who live in Summit attendance area.
  • TEMPLETON (K-6th) - ENL program for English learners who reside in Templeton attendance area
  • UNIVERSITY (K-6th) - ENL program for English learners who live in University attendance area.

**For English learners who reside in the following elementary school attendance area – Clear Creek, Lakeview, Marlin and Unionville elementary schools, will be allowed to transfer to a closer school where ENL program is available. MCCSC transportation will be provided.

 

Middle School - 7th & 8th Grade

  • BATCHELOR – ENL instruction for English learners who live in Batchelor attendance area.
  • JACKSON CREEK – ENL instruction for English learners who live in Jackson Creek attendance area.
  • TRI-NORTH - ENL instruction for English learners who live in Tri-North attendance area.

 

High School - 9th to 12th Grade
