Transfer Information

If you wish to attend a different MCCSC school outside of your attendance zone — or if you live outside of the district and wish to transfer to MCCSC schools — you can request a transfer:

Eligibility Criteria and Conditions
Attendance and Discipline
Students must meet the following criteria: 

  • Live in Indiana. 
  • Have no suspensions exceeding 10 days or expulsions within the previous 12 months. 
  • Demonstrate a history of consistent attendance. 
  • Be in good standing at their current school.

Transportation

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for providing transportation for approved transfers.  Transportation shuttles to Fairview will continue.

  • Arriving at school on time is mandatory; violations may result in revocation of the transfer agreement.

Extracurricular Activities

  • Transfer students must comply with all school and district rules. 

  • Eligibility guidelines for extracurricular activities will be provided by the school upon transfer approval.  Parents/guardians are encouraged to thoroughly review these guidelines. 

Revocation & Appeals

  • Transfer agreements may be revoked for violations of terms, including issues with behavior, attendance, or academics. 

  • Serious incidents could result in immediate revocation without prior notice.

  • Revocations will be provided in writing and will render the student ineligible for future transfers. 

  • Transfer decisions, including approvals, denials, and revocations, are final and cannot be appealed. 

Application Process

Apply
Applications are currently open.  Please complete the Transfer Request Form and we’ll reach out to you. 

In the event a specific school gets more applications than there is space available, a lottery may be held for all available spots at the school.  Anyone not selected in the lottery, and anyone who applies later, will be added to a waitlist.

Continuous Admission
If capacity in a specific school or grade level at the school is not reached, the district will continue to review applications submitted on a first-come, first-served basis, determined by the submission timestamp. 

Application Approval
Families will be notified of their application status as soon as possible.

Enroll
Once you receive approval of your application, you will receive directions on how to complete your full enrollment.

Additional information

Capacity
Out-of-district transfers will be accepted until capacity is reached at selected schools and grade levels, as determined by the district.

Waitlist
Applicants not selected due to capacity limits will be placed on a waitlist and notified as seats become available.

Year-to-Year
Out-of-district transfer students approved for enrollment must remain in good standing and submit a Transfer Renewal Form each year. It is our intention to be able to renew transfer requests each year so the students can remain at the school.  However, there are times when that may not be possible.

Kindergarten
To apply for out-of-district placement in kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year, children must have turned five (5) years old on or before August 1, 2025. Transfer students are not eligible for early entrance into kindergarten.
