Preschool FAQs

        Families may speak directly with their teacher or contact Jennifer Bickel, jbickel@mccsc.edu, for information about Special Education and the evaluation process. MCCSC’s program staff work with the Special Education department to meet all student’s needs.

        Preschoolers are eligible to attend any school with availability, regardless of their home school. Families utilizing Title 1 funds must attend their districted school. All MCCSC preschools follow the same play-based curriculum and more information may be found on the Preschool Curriculum page. Children must be three by August 1st of the current year to begin attending preschool.

        Transportation is currently offered for students who qualify. Title I and special education funding sources support transportation costs for those in need. 
- 
        You may choose to either pack a lunch from home or have your child buy school lunch. For more information on how to set up a lunch account, visit the food services page on our website here.

        MCCSC only offers full day, 5 day per week attendance at all our locations except Unionville. Unionville offers Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday attendance upon request. Preschoolers follow the same calendar and attendance dates as K-6 children and a regular school day is 9am-3:45pm.

        Some preschool locations offer before and after school care for additional fees. Please contact the Office of Early Learning to find out if your child’s preschool offers this service.

        Yes, we do provide an afternoon snack. We strive to offer healthy choices including fresh fruit, vegetables, yogurt, and whole grain options.

        We always welcome parent tours. We do ask that you set up all tours through our office. Please contact (812)330-7702 to arrange a day and time.

        There is no general supply list for preschool and all consumable materials will be provided for the students. Families are asked to send a regular sized backpack and small blanket and pillow for nap time, a change of clothes (labeled with the child’s name), a water bottle. Any other items children need to bring will be specified by their teacher.
