Templeton Elementary Playground: Phase 2

Children enjoy a new pavilion area on the playground

Playground benefits students and community

Templeton Elementary's new playground features new equipment, play areas, and an outdoor learning pavilion— creating an inclusive space for students and the broader community. The fully ADA-accessible design includes experiences specifically chosen to support sensory and physical development. Students and families enjoy tower structures, bridges, net climbing, slides, hillside play, swings, and basketball courts.

Phase 2 Investment: Approximately $1.5 million (General Obligation and Lease Rental Bonds).

"Kids think it’s fantastic. It’s fun to watch them come up with different games involving the towers and rope course. I’m excited about the community-building aspects. It’s filled with students during off hours. It puts a smile on my face every time I see it."
— Templeton Principal Joshua Livingston

The playground is open to the public after 6 p.m. on weekdays and during daylight hours on weekends.

Bloomington South Spectator Seating

Children enjoy a new spinning feature on the playground

New spectator seating for our Panther fans

Bloomington High School South's main gym received new bleachers that improved comfort, flexibility, and school spirit in one of the most heavily used spaces on campus — benefiting not only our school, but families and our community. Modern polyethylene bleachers replaced old wood seating to deliver significant upgrades in safety, comfort, and functionality.

The design also allows bleachers to be moved in and out with ease, improving flexibility for the gym's many uses.

Project Investment: Approximately $887,000 (General Obligation Bonds).

"The addition of new bleachers in our gym provides the entire Bloomington High School South community, as well as visitors to our school, a safe and functional opportunity to enjoy events. A win, win, win, situation for our kids and families."
— BHSS Principal Mark Fletcher

Bloomington High School South Soccer Field

Children enjoy a new spinning feature on the playground

Students and families benefit from a new multi-use field

Students across soccer, lacrosse, marching band, and physical education gained a reliable, all-weather space to practice, compete, and learn. Bloomington High School South's new synthetic turf field, scoreboard, press box, fencing, and staircase access allow multiple programs to use the same facility year-round without weather delays or deteriorating field conditions.

This upgrade is also a smart, long-term investment. Synthetic turf drains quickly, stands up to constant use, and reduces long-term expenses, stretching every dollar further for our students and community.

Project Investment: Approximately $1.6 million (General Obligation Bonds & Lease Rental Bonds).

"Our new turf soccer field adds the ability for teams to practice and play regardless of the weather conditions. Panther teams are now practicing on the surface that most all away games are played on and our strong soccer community sees that they are valued and supported by the school and the MCCSC!"
— BHSS Principal Mark Fletcher
