This unified communications platform is how our corporation and schools keep parents and guardians informed. All corporation and school, grade-level and classroom information will be sent to you automatically via email and/or text and the ParentSquare app.

Customize Notification & Language Settings

Notification Settings

ParentSquare allows users to customize their notifications based on notification type and delivery method (Email, Text, and App) for each school. 

  • The Instant setting will send you all post notifications in real-time as soon as notifications are sent. 
  • The Digest setting will send you all post notifications for the day in one single “digest” notification at the end of the day.

Please note: Direct messages, alerts and time-sensitive posts will still be delivered to you instantly.

You can also choose to turn off notifications (excluding emergency alerts and notices). 

To change your notification settings: 

  • Log in to ParentSquare using the email and phone number you used for student registration.
  • If you are using the web browser: On your home page, click your name, select “My Account,” then, “Notification Settings.”
  • If you are using the mobile app: From your home screen, click the triple bar in the top left corner. Click on “Account,” then “Notifications.”

Language Settings 

By default, you will receive messages in the language you selected at student registration. If you wish to change this setting: 

To change your language settings:

  1. Log in to ParentSquare using the email and phone number you used for student registration.
  2. Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner (or if you are on a mobile device, tap the menu icon (three lines) in the top-left corner.)
  3. Select "Settings" from the menu.
  4. In the "Language Settings" section, choose your preferred language.
  5. Click "Save" to apply the changes.

1. Why is MCCSC using ParentSquare?

ParentSquare provides MCCSC families with:

  • One central tool for communication that includes newsletters, eAlerts, messages, calendars, and more
  • Quick translation for families on content and messages to and from parents
  • A tool for schools to collect RSVPs, share calendar events, request items, and even seek volunteers
  • No setup for staff and families because all student information and class rosters transfer from student registration.

2. What is ParentSquare?

MCCSC uses ParentSquare for school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number entered at student registration. We encourage parents to download the mobile ParentSquare app (see instructions above) to customize their notification or language preferences, and see all corporation and school messages in a central location. 

Communication can be sent in 3 ways from schools:

  • Posts: Like a social media post, these information blocks can include pictures, videos, and more.  Users can choose to get email notifications, text alerts, and app push notifications.
  • Direct Messages: Parents can reply or initiate messages to the teacher. Staff can send a message to a parent or a group of parents.
  • Alerts and notices: One-way communication used for alerts and notices.  

4. For emergencies and closings, will MCCSC use ParentSquare?

Yes. MCCSC uses ParentSquare for all communication to families, including emergencies, closings, and delays. Parents and guardians will automatically receive emergency and weather-related emails and texts and/or phone calls. Downloading the ParentSquare app is not required, and emergency alerts cannot be turned off. 

5. How does ParentSquare integrate with other school corporation technology?

The systems MCCSC uses to store student registration information, organize academic content, and ParentSquare, are integrated seamlesslly. 

6. How do I access my ParentSquare account?

Search for ParentSquare and follow the app installation instructions. You will be prompted to enter your email address. Enter the email address that the school has on file for you, and you will be in!

To access ParentSquare from your device:

  • Go to ParentSquare.com/signin
  • Enter your Email or Cell Phone number
  • Create an account
  • You will be in and info for each of your children will be listed.

7. How can I update my contact information?

You will update your contact information by changing it in your Skyward account at the school.

8. Is it necessary to register my account to receive messages?

No. Registering your account allows you to customize your preferences, but it’s not necessary to register in order to receive messages. Initially, without registering you will receive email communications.

9. Can I customize how I want to receive notifications?

Yes! See the customization information above to learn how to customize your notification settings and language preferences. 

10. I am not getting any messages from ParentSquare. How can I fix it?

For technical assistance, contact your school or the MCCSC Technical Helpdesk at: MCCSC Help Desk.

There are a few possibilities for why you may not be receiving messages:

  • The school does not have your correct contact information. Check your QMLTV (student registration) account to make sure your most up-to-date contact information is entered. Contact your school to update your information. 
  • The same phone number or email address is used for both parents, so only one parent is getting the messages.
  • You have turned off all the modes of communication in your ParentSquare account.
  • Check your SPAM folder in your email.

11. I am a parent and staff member. How should I manage my accounts?

When you login to ParentSquare, it will ask you if your child's accounts need to be merged to yours. This will be on the top right under settings. Merge them. If you did not get that prompt or need further help, please enter a 360. For technical assistance, contact the MCCSC Technical Helpdesk at: MCCSC Help Desk.

12. What is StudentSquare?

StudentSquare is used in MCCSC high schools and schools will share information on what your student may need to do. Students can download the "StudentSquare" app to keep them connected. StudentSquare is available in the Android/ Google Play store and iOS app store. Search for StudentSquare and follow the app installation instructions.
